A cognitive assessment in Brisbane can help you . . .

Assess your memory, language, reasoning and perception.

Build a better picture of how you function with a cognitive assessment. Cognition is a combination of electrical processes in your brain that coalesce and form the habits of your everyday life. It includes elements that many of us take for granted – like memory, language, reasoning, perception and the ability to learn new things. Detecting cognitive impairments helps determine whether further evaluation is needed. At Educational Assessments, we carry out cognitive assessments in Brisbane. Our tests are used to measure your thinking abilities and allow consultants to monitor you over time.

Cognitive assessments can’t identify the cause – but they can illuminate the problem.

There are many causes for cognitive impairment. However, individuals with concerns regarding their cognition could benefit from early treatment. The sooner the problem is identified, the sooner you have to plan for the future. It provides opportunities to participate in decisions surrounding care, financial and legal matters. We offer cognitive and learning assessments for young children, all the way through to adulthood. Cognitive assessments at our Brisbane clinic provide us with a profile of intellectual strengths and weaknesses. For older patients, cognitive impairment could arise from medicinal side effects or biology. Dementia is a term reserved for a severe loss of mental functioning. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia. However, these are on the latter end of impairments.
